IMMUNITY
You know the feeling – runny nose, itchy throats, coughing and sneezing. Most of us need a little bit of support from our friend, food when it comes to winter colds.
This gorgeous pink juice, full of colour, freshness and a pinch of heat is the perfect rescue remedy. Inflammation is your body’s way of responding to stress and infections. When we talk about stress this doesn’t just mean being bogged down under a ton of paperwork, it’s area’s of your body that are overworking, out of balance and need a little bit of care. This recipe is full of anti-inflammatory properties that will ease and relieve your congestion, improve immunity and boost your energy.
3 carrots, washed and peeled
1 beetroot, washed and peeled
1 blood orange or any orange that is available to you, rind and pith removed
Thumb of fresh ginger
Thumb of turmeric root
Pinch of black pepper
Pinch of chilli powder
1. Juice all ingredients, apart from cayenne pepper and black pepper
2. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper and black pepper and serve over ice
3. Enjoy!

After working out, your body needs to rebuild its glycogen stores that have been used up during exercise. It also repairs and regrows muscle proteins. It is important to eat the right nutrients soon after you exercise to help your body do this faster. This juice is filled with
2 medium oranges, peeled and cut
35g whole, raw almonds
1 medium sweet potato, scrubbed and chopped
1 medium apple
thumb of ginger (optional)
120ml water
1. Pop everything in a blender. You may have to scrape the sides down occasionally. Blend until smooth
2. Strain juice into a glass. If you need to, thin out with more water
3. Enjoy!
DIGESTION
The digestive system is one incredibly important system of the body. It breaks down our food into smaller pieces so that our body can use it as nourishment and energy. Building new cells and giving us life! Anything we can do to help our digestion will increase overall health. Pre and probiotics from fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha and kefir or taking capsules helps to maintain a healthy bacteria in our guts. Juices are really easy on the digestive system, allowing the body to easily absorb all the incredible nutrients and giving you lots of lovely energy.

Root vegetables such as carrots are a great source of fiber and carbohydrates which help boost the production of serotonin. Oranges are jam packed full of vitamin C which has been shown to reduce stress levels. It is always a important antioxidant that boosts your immune system.
